In the art and entertainment universe of today—driven by the mainstream publishers and distributors—film festivals, on the other hand, provide a platform for independent, and otherwise obscured films, to have the spotlight. It is an experience nothing short of spectacularly unique to be exposed to beautiful non-Hollywood foreign films. They are often packed with rarely-before-seen elements to enthral the unfamiliar viewers through an entirely new cinema encounter.

One of such encounters that I have had lately was with a 2014 Argentinian-Spanish film, 'Wild Tales', composed of six non-linear short stories having a common theme of vengeance that often ended with quite freakish shades of violence. This epic thriller drama with unpretentious, excellent cinematographical moments that properly helped connect the short footages and form a bigger connection for us to realise is arguably praiseworthy. The direction and writing by Damián Szifron are virtually flawless. There were a few circumstances of conflicting play among sentimental and dreadful emotions, and rationality that I would probably have thought to be impossible to act and film prior to watching this subtle masterpiece.
