Film: Man Bites Dog (Originally in French: C'est arriv' pr's de chez vous, It took place close to your home) Directors: Rémy Belvaux, André Bonzel and Benoît Poelvoorde Year Released: 1992 Language: French

An ingenious creation. Truly original, and still to this day, one of a kind. I had wanted to watch this film for a few years—the curious desire that got ignited as soon as I learnt about its unique notoriety among the cinephiles who dig into the world of unsettling art films. One of those disturbing films that I will remember indefinitely. The freaky string of vicious-natured ventures that leads to the descent of whole crew of main characters into a deep chasm of ultra-violence is too convincingly filmed. The hand-held documentary styled filming (mockumentary) is near perfect with the real film-makers themselves portraying the lead characters.

Man Bites Dog

A very manipulative film that will leave a viewer, at numerous points, questioning oneself: Is it wrong to even be watching this? (But the truth perhaps is that you have partially ridden along with the characters into witnessing the darkest side of mankind; you will carry on to the bitter end.)
